ODM uses the not-the-latest in gaming hardware. :D I'll be expanding this section as possible to show exactly what I've been making these videos with!
This HOTAS joystick is a real pleasure to use! Straightforward, functional on Linux with no special software, and works great in War Thunder to control your plane, including rudder by twisting the stick. Check it out here: PXH PXN-2119ii HOTAS
Creatively using cheap and/or free software is a specialty of mine!
Arch Linux gets out of your way and lets you decide what you want your OS to be. Of course, you need to be a bit of a techno-geek to install it as there's no easy UI, no hand-holding beyond a long Installation Guide, and no help beyond a VERY extensive wiki, but when you get done, you're getting the best performance out of your hardware that you want to get.
While this may have been the operating system of choice for the Death Star and Imperial forces across the galaxy, it is still the only game in town for certain hardware and software. For instance, the Oculus Rift CV1 I was gifted by my son only works on Windows, though that may be changing...
...because the crew at OpenHMD have been hard at work making VR headsets work on Linux along with other operating environments! Jan Schmidt in particular has been spearheading support for the Rift CV1 through his personal blog!
Where else are you going to get an easy library filled with Linux compatible games? Head on over to steampowered.com to get your free install... but the games will cost you (sometimes).
Exploding tanks, crash-diving airplanes, there's a hole in your left wing... the PTSD will get you if the enemies don't! War Thunder is a lot of fun as long as you don't take it TOO seriously. Enjoy yourself! Check it out at warthunder.com
Want to record your hottest gameplay (or, like me, your mediocre gameplay) and put it on YouTube? OBS Studio records it, streams it, lets you run your stream like a pro even without fancy hardware. Head over to https://obsproject.com/ to get making content fast!
You've recorded that amazing match or that perfect headshot and now you just GOTTA add some music and a few quick zooms to get your video just right! Shotcut is a good, free video editor that I enjoy using!
Add a footnote if this applies to your business
